SPARK Social Development Program (2017 Winter Camp)

December 22-30th

Imagine a social development program set in the beautiful town of El Gouna, Egypt; where young leaders create friendships and share ideas; where sports and fun are an integral part of the experience, where participants are immersed in an environment of life skills, and personal development through workshops and fun competitions.
What you’ve imagined is the transformational Winter Camp called SPARK!, and we want you to be a part of it.

This Social Development program is designed for people who want to make the world a better place through launching high impact social projects such as poverty alleviation, education, healthcare, women's rights and animal care. To be eligible to attend this program you have to be between 16-24 years old and must be fluent in English.

Social Development Experience

An integral part of our social development program is equipping participants with the tools and skills they need to start high impact and scalable social projects. A variety of workshops that are critical for the development of these skills will be run at the camp. Such workshops include: fundraising, team building, market research, strategic partnerships, financial planning, creating a pilot project, growth, communication skills, and raising awareness. In addition, there will be case studies on successful social projects so that participants can incorporate crucial takeaways from these cases into their own projects.

High-Achievement

Many SPARK alumni went on to attend top universities, and others have started their own companies or projects in the media, environment, real-estate, education, healthcare, and technology sectors.

Fun, Games and Sports

The memorable SPARK experience would not be complete without ensuring that the campers take part in all of their favorite activities and sports such as water-sports, go-karting, beach volley and beach football

SPARK was created with the belief that developing countries will never become developed ones until they nurture their youth well enough to produce a generation of enlightened leaders and change makers that can solve the most pressing challenges the country faces. Frequently Asked Questions

What are the Application deadlines?

Our admissions process happens over 2 rounds:

Round 1: Applications due October 31, 2017
The chances of acceptance to the program are highest during this round.

Round 2: Applications due November 30, 2017
We have no guarantees that spots in the program will be available after round 1. If spots remain, they will be available for applicants who apply before November 30th, which is our final cut-off.

How much does the Program cost?

The program fees are 14,000 EGP (includes VAT) for participants who are residents of Egypt and 1700 USD (includes VAT) for participants who are residents outside of Egypt. SPARK offers financial aid packages on 100% need blind basis so we invite all interested persons to apply, regardless of ability to pay.

When will I know if I was accepted?

Applicants should hear back concerning their applications within a week. Successful applicants will be asked to schedule an online interview within a week of being selected.
Applicants who pass the interview will be accepted to the program within a week of their interviews.
